Getting Here

Getting to Napanee is easy, as it is located just off the Highway 401 corridor, which connects Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa. From Toronto it’s about a 2.5 hours drive, and from Ottawa, about the same. If you prefer to take the train, VIA Rail operates daily services to Kingston, which is a 25 minute drive from Napanee. If you do take the VIA train, probably you’ll find Enterprise Rent-a-Car most convenient as they will pick you up at the station and you can complete the process at their facility. (Do call ahead though to make sure you can get a car and that they are open!)

Attractions

Napanee has plenty of attractions and activities to keep you busy during your stay. History buffs will enjoy visiting the Lennox and Addington County Museum and Archives or exploring the historic downtown area. Outdoor enthusiasts can go hiking or biking in the local parks and conservation areas, go fishing or boating on the Napanee River, or play a round of golf at one of the local courses. Art and culture enthusiasts will appreciate the Napanee Arts Trail, which showcases the work of local artists and artisans, and the local theatre scene, which offers a range of productions throughout the year. The Napanee Heritage 5k Run takes place in June and is a great way to explore the town’s historic downtown area while getting some exercise. Other popular events include the Napanee Crunch, a winter festival featuring ice carving, snowshoeing, and a polar bear dip, and the Napanee Multicultural Festival, which celebrates the town’s diverse community with food, music, and dance from around the world.
